Michael Müller returns to Bavaria Yachts as CEO
Michael Müller is once again taking the helm at Bavaria Yachts and has been appointed CEO by the German shipyard’s advisory board.
Together with managing directors Norbert Leifeld (COO) and Thorsten Gatz (CFO), Müller will lead the yard near Würzburg and keep it on course for success with its almost 700 employees.

Müller successfully served as Bavaria’s CEO from 2019 to 2021 and also knows the company from the perspective of an advisory board member. In 2020 he oversaw the launch of two new models – the Bavaria SR41 motorboat and Bavaria C42 sailing yacht. The award-winning yachts are now among Bavaria’s best-selling models.
In 2021 Müller handed over the reins to Marc Diening, who as CEO steered Bavaria through the Covid crisis and significantly increased the yard’s profitability despite material shortages and price increases in the market.
Diening oversaw the launch of two yachts this year, both nominated for several awards – the new Bavaria C46 sailing yacht, which debuted at Cannes, and the Bavaria SR33 motorboat.
Diening is now leaving his position as CEO of Bavaria Yachts at his own request.
