Parent to US boatbuilder White River Marine Group and retail chains Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s, names Jamie Sohosky as new chief marketing officer

Jamie Sohosky joins US marine retail giant as chief marketing officer for all brands, including White River Marine Group, Cabelas and Bass Pro Shops

The Great Outdoors Group of Companies, parent to US boatbuilder White River Marine Group and retail chains Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s, has named Jamie Sohosky as its new chief marketing officer.

In her new role Sohosky will oversee all channels of customer engagement, promotions, events, sponsorships and partnerships for all companies under the Great Outdoors Group corporate umbrella, including its flagship Bass Pro Shops retail chain, its recently-acquired Cabela’s retail chain and its White River Marine Group boat building business. 

Sohosky comes to the Great Outdoors Group from US retail giant Walmart, where she most recently served as vice president of marketing and customer experience for the company’s US operations. Sohosky has held several key marketing and media roles with Walmart, in both its US and international operations. Before joining Walmart in 2006, Sohosky served as category marketing manager for Campbell Soup Co.

The largest-volume boat retailer in the world, White River Marine Group manufactures and distributes a wide range of fibreglass and aluminum fishing, pontoon and recreational boats under its Tracker, Nitro, Ranger, Triton, Sun Tracker, Regency, Tahoe and Mako brands. Its boats are sold directly through more than 130 Tracker Boat Center dealerships, most of which are co-located with existing Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s retail locations across North America.
