Jeff Harris has spent his 40-year career at Fountain Powerboats
Iconic Marine Group (IMG) in the US has tapped company veteran Jeff Harris as the new chief operating officer for the parent company of Baja, Donzi and Fountain boats.
Harris has spent his 40-year marine industry career at Fountain Powerboats, where he was one of the first employees hired by founder Reggie Fountain.
“Jeff and I worked side-by-side rolling glass on that first boat 40 years ago,” Fountain said in a company statement. “Whether it’s boat design, hull construction, rigging, sales, warranty or talking to customers at a boat show, Jeff’s understanding of what it takes to make a boat company work is unmatched.”
During his tenure at Fountain, Harris amassed a number of national and world boat racing championships and world speed records.
“Nobody respects Iconic’s heritage more than I do,” Harris said. “From day one we’ve enjoyed a competitive edge and I’m going to build on that. Boaters expect a performance advantage from Iconic. My job is to add all I’ve learned in racing and manufacturing to an already winning formula.”
Harris was named to replace long-time IMG CC Joe Curran, who passed away earlier this month.
