As of January 1, 2018, Nicola Pomi will head up Volvo Penta’s marine sales division for the European region, for both the leisure and commercial sectors. He will also become part of the Region Europe Management Group (EEM).
Pomi has a wealth of experience at Volvo Penta, having progressed through several roles. He joined the company in 2006, initially as Business Controller and Local Manager in Italy, before progressing to Marine Department Manager in Italy, in 2009. In 2015 he took on an additional role as Marine Manager for Volvo Penta’s Spanish office.
Pomi succeeds Pascal Jamet, who has led Volvo Penta’s European marine sales division for 10 years. In his new position, Jamet will become Marine Business Manager for France and Spain, and will help develop new projects in the marine leisure segment for boats from 25ft-40ft.
“We have had some exciting developments in the marine sector in recent months,” says Stefan Carlsson, head of Volvo Penta’s Marine Diesel segment. “The continuity of knowledge and fresh ideas that Nicola will bring to the role, will enable us to keep moving forward with a premium offer for our customers. I wish both Nicola and Pascal success in their new roles.”
