ABYC will present the first program in a new series presented with the US Coast Guard on November 9, 2021

The Maryland, US-based American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with the US Coast Guard to launch a new series of one-day online programs dedicated to mitigating risk in designing and building recreational boats.

The USCG Risk Mitigation Series is designed to be a regular series of programs featuring interactive, in-depth discussions on issues related to leisure boat construction.

The first event on the new series, titled ’Regulations and Electrification’, will be presented on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 with content focused on the transition to electric systems in recreational boats, including propulsion and battery power bank alternatives to generators.

“This collaboration with the US Coast Guard allows us to discuss trends and safety issues in an open and inclusive forum,” said ABYC president, John Adey. “When the Coast Guard approached us about this, we did not hesitate.”

Further information on the new webinar series is available on the ABYC website at www.abycinc.org/riskmitigation.
