Five boat shows included plus possible event in London

In the wake of the closure of the London Boat Show, British Marine, the UK trade body for the marine leisure and small commercial market, plans to launch a new initiative in 2020 that will provide a support package to encourage companies to exhibit at a number of small UK shows.

This programme includes a series of five shows which are:

  • RYA Dinghy Show in March 2020
  • Crick Boat Show in May 2020
  • Northern Boat Show, Liverpool, held in late May/early June
  • Poole Boat Show held in June
  • Western Boat Show, Bristol, held in July

Dean Smith, the commercial director of British Marine, told IBI: “Our package will include marketing expertise, advice of the events calendar and member support which will include a toolbox of various options that companies can make use of.”

In addition to this new initiative and in the absence of the London Yacht Show not going ahead until at least 2021, Smith pointed out that if there was interest show by British Marine members then consideration would be given to holding some event in London.
