International design, European engineering and China’s advanced manufacturing capabilities come together in an exciting new catamaran brand showcasing at Cannes

The Cannes Yachting Festival is renowned as a place to “explore the future of the seas”, making it the ideal venue for an innovative new catamaran builder to introduce itself to the international market and establish strategic partnerships with leading dealers and distributors.

Trueline Yachts launched the global market strategy for its CX Series earlier this year, but this new-generation China-based builder has evolved from a longstanding heritage of industrial manufacturing, extensive engineering expertise and generations of boatbuilding experience.

The CX series – comprising a 32, 36 and 42 model – takes this foundation forward with modern yachts boasting contemporary international design, European engineering and China’s advanced manufacturing capabilities. “Our vision is to create a brand with global market appeal,” says Trueline’s commercial director Ricky Tian. “The CX Series is just the first chapter of the Trueline story.”

The decision to build catamarans is a nod to the builder’s insight into today’s market. “Even during periods when the wider boating market faces challenges, the power catamaran segment has continued to grow steadily,” says Tian.

“More importantly, customer lifestyles are changing. Owners are looking for larger living spaces, easier handling and a more relaxed, open experience on the water. We believe power catamarans reflect this shift and will play an increasingly important role in the future of recreational boating.”

Trueline also appreciates that while today’s owners want reliable performance on the water, they also desire high levels of interior craftsmanship and design. Where better to turn than Italy?

The Trueline team make it a priority to work with Italian designers, who bring not only European styling but also deep experience from the superyacht sector. This is at the heart of Trueline’s vision – to introduce premium yacht elements into the power catamaran market. Refined interior concepts, lightweight materials, integrated deck detailing and lifestyle-focused features greatly enhance the aesthetics and comfort on board.

“Quality, for us, is never defined by a single material or feature,” says Tian. “It comes from the way every detail works together – from design and craftsmanship to material selection and manufacturing precision. Our aim is to bring the refinement and attention to detail normally associated with larger luxury yachts into the power catamaran segment, creating a better on-board experience for every owner.”

Building a network of global partners

Tian himself has close to 20 years’ experience working with internationally recognised yacht brands and dealer networks; experience that came to the fore in Trueline securing its first dealer partnership in France. Advanced discussions with prospective partners in Greece, Australia, New Zealand and the United States are progressing well.

Cannes was chosen as the optimum platform to showcase the CX Series, and Trueline’s international team will be exhibiting scale models, high-resolution renderings and deck plans of its 32 and 36 models. The team will also be actively meeting prospective dealers and distributors.

“The Cannes Yachting Festival represents an important milestone,” says Tian. “It’s our first opportunity to introduce Trueline to the international market and begin meaningful conversations with dealers, partners and customers. Our vision is to build a brand that earns trust over time through thoughtful design, engineering excellence, consistent quality and long-term relationships. For us, Cannes is the starting point of Trueline’s global journey.”
