The largest vessel Bilgin Yachts has constructed to date has been launched and will later be the first vessel to make use of the company’s new shipyard at West Marina, Istanbul for fit-out.
The new and as yet unnamed flagship, known as Project 263, is an 80m (263ft) superyacht for a repeat Indian client. She is due to be delivered at the end of 2019. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure were completed at Bilgin’s Yalova metal works facility.
The new yacht will relocate to Bilgin’s West Marina shipyard by the end of this year and the fitting out will be completed in one of the three 90m (296ft)-plus bays within the megayacht build hall. A second 80m is already in build and will be completed in 2020.
Project 263 features styling and naval architecture by Unique Yacht Design and an interior layout by H2 Design Studio. The new superyacht will offer accommodation for 12 guests in eight staterooms as well as 24 crew. She will have a top speed of 17kt and a range of 6,000Nm at a cruising speed of 11kt. Project 263 is being built to ABS classification and LY3 compliance, which is the same as her sistership.
“Today is another proud day for our company,” says İsmail Şengün, Bilgin’s CEO. “We are happy to see how beautiful the boat is and really look forward to presenting her to the world in a couple of years.”
Bilgin Yachts is also currently building a second 48m from the Bilgin 156 series, which is available for purchase. Same as for the first launch of the Bilgin 156 series, M/Y Nerissa, which is lying in the south of France and available for private viewings.
