Zeelander Yachts of the Netherlands has expanded its range with a new flagship model – the Z66, which is due for launch in 2019. Designed by Zeelander’s inhouse team in collaboration with Cor D Rover, the 20m vessel will be much larger than the current flagship, the Z55, offering some unique superyacht features.
“Whilst keeping true to the iconic shape, the Zeelander design has evolved,” says Leonardo van den Berg, commercial director. “An S-Shaped deck line, a wider stern and even more curved surfaces. We believe true yacht building is a form of art. This is the epitome of our craft. The exterior design was inspired by the way Porsche incrementally evolves its designs over time. A legendary icon is what we envision for the Z66.”
As with other Zeelander models, the Z66 was developed in close cooperation with its owner. “One of our closest customers loves a good party. In order to accommodate more of his guests, we collaboratively looked at the designs of the yacht and developed something that fulfilled all of his wishes,” says van den Berg. “That’s how the Z66 was born.”
The Z66 surpasses 22m when the large swimming platform is open, and the maximum beam is 6m. The yacht will have a sophisticated décor, huge panoramic windows and vast social zones for the best possible guest experience on board, says Zeelander. It will also carry the same sporty DNA of the brand, with a top speed of over 40kt.
Full details of the new Z66 will be revealed later this year.
