Nerea Yachts’ NY24 day cruiser also has potential as a high-class tender for superyachts

Two new Italian brands have used boot Düsseldorf 2019 to launch into the global market. Nerea Yachts debuted its NY24 day cruiser and Cetera Yachts introduced the Cetera 60, the first in a new series of ‘multispace yachts’.

Designed by Francesco Guida, the new multispace approach from Cetera Yachts involves a new layout across three decks with a technical deck at the base of the yacht, a central living space deck and a flybridge. Construction is due to start next month, with its debut scheduled for Cannes in September.

Fiat is a majority shareholder in the project and its facilities will be used to build the yachts.

The Cetera 60 will be built in compliance with RINA regulations. The yacht has a standard planing hull and it will be powered by twin Volvo IPS 600 engines, giving it a speed of 23kt. There will be an option for IPS 800 engines.

The innovation of the Cetera 60 lies in its deck layout. The lower or technical deck comprises the engine room, the hyrdraulic and tanks compartments, an en-suite crew cabin for two or possibly a fourth cabin, the chain locker and generator compartment.

The main deck has the living accommodation with three en-suite cabins made up of two doubles and a twin, a convertible cockpit, tender garage for a Williams 2.85m tender and swim platform. There is also a double height sky-lighted lobby, a panoramic living area and main deck cockpit for dining and socialising.

The upper deck combines the wheelhouse area, a wide American-style galley, and a convertible living area that can also be used for dining.

Nerea Yachts’ NY24 is described as a ‘new, all-Italian stylish day cruiser’ which also has potential as a high-class tender for superyachts. Nerea is a new Italian yachting company based on the established design skills of Dario Messina, who has been operating in the boatbuilding industry for 20 years.

The NY24 is seen as a first step following research based on the love for the sea, Italian style and the desire to create a boat as if it was a work of art. Signed by the Italian designers Alessio Battistini and Davide Bernardini of ideae ITALIA, the NY24 is day cruiser born from a creative idea and built with the collaboration of an experienced technical team.

The NY24 was moulded and built in the Nerea Yacht facilities on the Adriatic coast, near Fano. Messsina has set up a “boat boutique”, a nautical laboratory where every new craft is made-to-measure. The 7.35m NY24 is a small open to operate as a day cruiser with a sporty and versatile performance, ideal for spending a day or a weekend. It is suitable for both lakes and sea.

The well-equipped NY24 includes a dinette where, lowering the central table turns the space into an extended sunbathing area. The cockpit can be equipped with two drawer refrigerators, a concealed sink and a stove. There is also a spacious swim platform at the transom on three levels. Protection from the sun is granted by a practical bimini which extends over the entire living area.

The Volvo engine connected to the duoprop sterndrive guarantees great performance with a top speed of 32kt and a comfortable cruising speed of 26kt. The engine room hatch, with remote electrical opening, makes inspections simple.

The NY24 design includes a cabin with a large container sofa, convertible in double berth, and enclosed toilet. Comfort is also given by the audio video system and the natural light flooding the cabin, thanks to two long windows on the sides. A central glass hatch with double sliding doors gives easy access in the cabin as well as contributing to the diffused brightness below deck.
