The Dutch builder’s new flagship represents a new market segment for the yard

Saffier Yachts of the Netherlands is getting in shape for boot Düsseldorf 2025, where it will unveil its first cabin yacht in eight years – the 14m (46ft) SL.

Launching the new Saffier Yachts flagship is bound to be a daunting event for the maker of advanced, world-class, open-cockpit daysailers, which sells around 150 yachts per year.

Saffier Yachts will unveil the SL46 Med and SL46 North in Düsseldorf

With the Saffier SL46, the yard enters an entirely new market segment from the one it serves with its fast open-cockpit sailboats. Saffier has been enthusiastically working on the design and concept. It is an “easy single-handed operation,” says the yard. The last time it launched a cabin sailboat was the Saffier SC 8m (26ft) in 2017.

At Düsseldorf, the yard will unveil two versions of the SL 46: the 46 Med and 46 North. The former has an outdoor living room and an open aft deck lounge with twin helmsman seats that transform into lounge beds. The North has a sheltered cockpit and extra storage space under the sundeck for a dinghy.

Saffiers range from 21ft-46ft (6.5m-14m) and have electric engines and lots of advanced technology, such as electric propulsion, advanced sail handling (self-tacking jibs, electric winches), composite hulls, modern navigation and communication systems and innovative designs that maximise deck space and comfort.

Saffier Yachts says it has pre-owned yachts for sale that have been thoroughly checked and approved by the yard. At boot Düsseldorf 2025, the world’s largest indoor boat show (January 20-28), it will show the Saffier Se 24 Lite, the Saffier Se 27 Leisure, the Saffier Se 33 Life and the Saffier SL 46.
