The government of Cyprus has agreed to the construction of a new superyacht marina at Ayia Napa, situated at the south eastern corner of the island.
Costing around €200m, it will be built by local developer M M Makronisos Marina and provide 600 berths for yachts up to 60m (196ft).
Meanwhile, work continues on the construction of new marinas at Paphos and Limassol.
The Limassol development will open at the end of this year, providing 600 berths up to 115m (378ft).
At Larnaca a 35-year concession agreement is expected to be signed soon on a project that will eventually include 1,000 berths extending up to 150m (492ft).
