Italian motoryacht builder Absolute Yachts has been recognised as Italy’s SME Exporter of the Year in the new ‘Export2Succeed’ Awards.
The awards are a new initiative launched by UPS, the global logistics firm, together with L’Imprenditore, a monthly magazine by Piccola Industria di Confindutria. The aim of Export2Succeed is to promote the internationalisation of SMEs and ‘Made in Italy’ products.
Absolute stood out from the competition thanks to its 'Absolute Global Project'. Cesare Mastroianni, Absolute VP of sales & CCO, said the crisis at the end of the 2000s gave rise to an 'active reaction' at the company and a determination to overcome market difficulties through an ambitious and expensive project.
“During the six-year period between 2012 and 2017, the company has never moved backwards, considering the workforce, the advertising investment and above all the investment in the ongoing renewal of products. This led to the Global Project that has been involving us in three dimensions: technical, organisational and communicative."
Behind the success of the Absolute Global project is the company’s sizeable sales network. The organisation includes a satellite company in the USA; the handling of three international events – Cannes, Düsseldorf and Hong Kong; technical training of local players through meetings and training at the company's headquarters and in several international locations; as well as participation at over 50 international boat shows.
“Today Absolute has become a solid global reality of recreational boating,” said Mastroianni. “During the years of the project’s development, we have received many international awards in Europe and Asia and above all our turnover has grown in double figures, right when the international yachting market was facing a shrinking or static period.”
