Airmar Technology Corporation has launched the AIRMAR Certified Installer (ACI) program. Airmar manufactures Chirp-ready transducers for many US boatbuilders and aftermarket providers.

ACI training includes instruction on proper installation techniques for all mounting styles and troubleshooting skills for onboard issues. “The certification is designed to provide installers of marine electronics with best practices for transducer selection, installation, and diagnostic testing,” says Jennifer Matsis, vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement. “In the end, the consumer wins by getting the right transducer properly installed and superior sonar performance.”

ACIs are able to provide customers with a third year of warranty coverage on qualifying, versus Airmar’s standard two-year warranty. ACIs are also eligible for onboard service reimbursement for any transducer within the warranty period, regardless of the installer.

Airmar has scheduled 10 course locations and will add more in the near future. The free certification course will cover an in-depth education of transducer types, installation methods, troubleshooting and extensive hands-on training with the company’s TDT1000 Transducer Diagnostic Tester.
