Dutch systems integrator Alewijnse Marine signed a contract with SEMIDEP-Ciotat at the Monaco Yacht Show to continue expanding Alewijnse’s presence at La Ciotat Shipyard in the South of France.
Alewijnse says it delivers added value to the yard, providing a fast and high‐quality service to the superyachts that use it. The company has so far worked on more than 50 superyachts in excess of 55m.
The partnership between the two companies will play an important role in attracting the larger and more complex refits to La Ciotat, reads a statement. Alewijnse has many years’ experience working on new‐build superyachts and La Ciotat’s facilities can take yachts of up to any size.
The continuation of the partnership will bring many advantages to the region, including employment, the transfer of technology, and traineeships to encourage local people to work at La Ciotat Shipyards.
Alewijnse is an all‐round system integrator experienced in setting up satellite facilities abroad. This approach fits well with SEMIDEP’s aim of fostering the sustainable economic development of the shipyard, with specific attention drawn to permanent job creation.
