The Middle East's largest boat distributor, ART Marine, has reached a long-term agreement with Charterbay LLC to manage and operate the 300-berth Ghantoot Marina & Resort in Abu Dhabi.

The agreement includes the operation, maintenance and management of the marina, and is part of ART Marine's strategy to establish a chain of marina destinations throughout the region.

"True to our company mantra to 'Discover Yachting', our marina destinations strategy will allow us to better introduce the yachting and cruising lifestyle to a much broader audience," says ART Marine president and CEO Constantinos Constantinou. "This mission has been assigned to our Marina Management Division, headed by Bruno Meier, who has over 20 years of experience in this field."

Located just 20 minutes from Dubai and 40 minutes from Abu Dhabi city centre, Ghantoot Marina & Resort can accommodate sail and powerboats, with seven superyacht berths of up to 50m (164ft).

ART Marine is the exclusive importer and distributor of Azimut-Benetti yachts in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Maldives, Mauritius, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, the Seychelles and the UAE. The group also serves as the exclusive dealer of the Australian Riviera line of fishing/flybridge yachts.

Apart from distributing yachts, the company also offers services such as maintenance, aftersales support, yacht management, charter, marina management and consultation throughout the Gulf region.

ART Marine will assume operational responsibility of Ghatoot Marina on April 1, 2010.
