Burgess Yachts and Yachting Partners International (YPI) have both recently made new appointments related to their respective activities in Asia.

At Burgess, which has had a growing Asian presence in Singapore and Hong Kong over the last two years, Dominic Millman has been appointed managing director Asia with immediate effect.

Millman will continue his duties as sales broker based out of the London office alongside his new role. He will also lead the overall development of Burgess in Asia, coordinating the company’s global brokerage resources and expertise to personally support and advise Asia-based clients.

Millman commented: “With the Asia office going from strength to strength, I am delighted to work with an already well-established and highly talented team.”

Millman replaces Richard Lamber, who has been appointed head of sales – a new role where he will implement an overall strategy to boost sales across the board.

Millman has been one of the most active large yacht brokers in the region for many years with a strong portfolio of sales to Asian clients, and with 14 years of brokerage experience in the superyacht industry.

“We have selected a very strong and experienced global team to bring the best of our expertise in all aspects of superyachting to the region,” says Jonathan Beckett, group CEO of Burgess. “We are taking a long-term approach to developing the market in Asia.”

At YPI, Liz To has been appointed Asia chief representative. She obtained her pleasure yacht captain license when she was 18 and also received various trainings from the Marine Services Training Institute in Hong Kong.

Liz To worked for the YPI joint venture partner in 2011 and participated in the launch of YPI's operations in Asia. Together with YPI management, she managed a 40m (131ft) Feadship, which was one of the first superyachts imported to China.

In 2013, she moved to a new position and became a successful yacht manager. In 2015, she decided to take a career break to pursue personal projects and is now back at YPI Group to lead the regional office. YPI Asia operates out of offices in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

Both Burgess and YPI Asia are membersof the Asia Pacific Superyachts Association.
