Following a second meeting in Hong Kong last month, a group of Asian yacht and boat dealers have held discussions with a number of key Chinese and Hong Kong show organisers aimed at enhancing the quality of their events. Decisions made at the June meeting will affect shows in Shanghai, Sanya, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macau.

The meeting followed an earlier one in February at which a number of dealers got together to discuss which shows they would attend and ways to make the shows more effective. The meeting followed a run of events in Greater China last year at which relatively little business was secured. The related marketing spend, however, was substantial.

The group is gathering more feedback and discussions with various organisers are ongoing. A further meeting is planned for September, before the main events in Europe, that will also address other shows in Asia outside Greater China.
