Italy’s Benetti Yachts has launched the second unit of its Mediterraneo 116’ model, a 35.5m fibreglass and carbonfibre yacht from its Class Displacement range. It will be ready for delivery on October 30, says the yard.
Like the previous model, the BM002’s exterior was designed by Giorgio Maria Cassetta and the interior is from Benetti’s Interior Style Department in collaboration with the owner’s designer of choice.
“Comfort, luminosity and design were the key concepts when designing the owner and guest spaces,” says Benetti in a statement. Outside, there are two big dining areas (including one over 6m-wide in the cockpit on the upper deck) and various extensive spaces furnished with sun loungers, sofas, deckchairs and armchairs. The sundeck offers a total area of more than 80sq m and a continuous walkable surface almost 16m-long.
Inside, the main deck’s lounge area consists of dining and relaxation spaces, each with 3m-long windows. The full-beam master suite is situated on this deck in the bow, with a studio and cabin that also feature big glazed surfaces, both 3.4m long and free of uprights.
Four guest cabins on the lower deck consist of two facing VIP cabins aft with double beds and two guest cabins with twin beds and pulman beds for hosting two more guests on board.
The crew accommodation for a total of seven people is provided by three cabins, plus the captain’s cabin on the upper deck next to the helm station.
Two CAT ACER C32 Rating D (1600hp @ 2300 rpm) engines give the yacht to a top speed of 15kt and a cruising speed of around 14kt. Its range at 10kt is 3,000Nm, with stabilisation at anchor and underway provided by an electric fin stabiliser.
