Turkish superyacht builder Bilgin Yachts has launched the first model in its new 48m (156ft) series. Called Nerissa, the superyacht took 23 months to build and weighed in, as expected, at 499 tonnes.

Nerissa’s graceful profile was developed by Unique Yacht Design, based in Antalya, while her interior was designed by H2Yacht Design. Naval architecture for Nerissa was also overseen by Unique.

A full-displacement motoryacht, Nerissa has a hi-tensile steel hull and aluminium superstructure, capable of cruising beyond 4,000 miles and reaching a top speed of 16kt.

Bilgin says that most of the dock and system trials for Nerissa have already been performed in its construction shed, and the vessel will spend the next month at the dock for final fit-out, commissioning and sea trials before being sent to the South of France.

Nerissa is due to be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show this September, where she will be presented to the press and industry as well as to potential buyers.
