The 2016 Biograd Boat Show (BBS) in southern Croatia is filling up at a record pace. According to event organiser Ilirija d.d, this year’s event (October 20-23) will be another record show with the exhibition halls fully booked three months in advance.
Held at Marina Kornati, BBS is said to be the biggest boat show in Croatia and Central Europe’s biggest in-water show. More than 300 contracted exhibitors will exhibit many more nautical brands, marking 17 years of continuous growth.
“The level of optimism continues to rise in the local boating industry, and we expect this to be reflected at this year’s boat show,” says the organiser in a statement. “The biggest improvement in exhibitor interest comes from dealers of larger motor vessels, as we are finally seeing signs of life in a market that has been cautiously quiet over the years.”
The Biograd Boat Show has taken on a more international flavour over the years, thanks to the importance of Croatia as a boating destination and the impressive facilities of Ilirija d.d., which includes Marina Kornati, Ilirija hotels, restaurants and entertainment facilities. Favourable pricing for all services adds to the atmosphere, while a pontoon bridge links the main marina with Marina Kornati West, offering a unique and attractive in-water exhibition.
As Croatia is a leading destination for bareboat yacht charter, the Biograd Charter Show (BCS) will take place once again in Hall B. Thursday and Friday will focus on B2B dealings, while the weekend will provide consumers an opportunity to speak directly with charter providers and to take advantage of special offers.
A number of new features have also been added to this year’s event, including onsite conference facilities in Hall B for meetings and presentations, online B2B meeting scheduling administered by the Croatian Chamber of Economy, and expanded meeting facilities for charter professionals.
Also new is a complementary refreshment bar that will be open to all accredited charter professionals on the Thursday and Friday of the show.
