Over 43,000 visitors flocked to this year’s Boat & Fun Berlin, one of Germany’s leading boating exhibitions for inshore and coastal waters – a slight rise over last year’s figures.

More than 600 sailing boats, motorboats and around 500 manually powered boats and boards were displayed during the four-day event, which ran from November 23-26.

“Besides spectacular sailing boats and modern motoryachts, Boat & Fun Berlin also featured new interactive events,” says project manager Daniel Barkowski. “A visit to a trade fair is something that should fascinate people and be an unforgettable experience. I think we achieved that.”

Of the 700 exhibitors that took part, most reported positive reactions and strong sales.

“Things went very well for us,” says Patrick Dittmer at watersports specialist Kaitts Ltd/Kajakprofi. “We have sold 60 boats to date. Our test pool was always busy. A lot of visitors made spontaneous purchases.”

Christer T-Juneburg at first-time exhibitor Scandica Aluminium Angelboote was also very satisfied. He said his company is just beginning to establish itself on the German market. “I was able to sell around 10 boats and am very pleased. I will be back next year on a bigger stand,” he said.

Next year’s Boat & Fun Berlin will be held from November 22-25, 2018. The organisers are also planning a new in-water boat show called Werder Maritim, which will be held for the first time from September 7-9, 2018 in Werder (Havel), Brandenburg.
