Santa Catarina, Brazil-based boatbuilder Intech Boating is celebrating its 7th anniversary with the announcement that it is looking to double its current production of around 50 boats a year, by the end of 2014.

Intech Boating builds patrol and fishing boats from 8.5m-11.3m (28ft-37ft). The builder also produces Italy’s Sessa Marine range (the F42, C40, C36), and the Key Largo series of centre console boats including the KL27 and KL 28 Sole.

The builder's 5,200sq m facility sits on a 20,000sq m site and currently has the capacity to build four boats per month up to 50ft. Machinery for the Sessa Marine product line has been imported from Italy.

“Our product has been well accepted in the market. We did well with the models introduced after the natural period of maturation of the brand and gaining the credibility and market confidence, the projected growth was achieved. The market responded satisfactorily and the introduction of the F42 in late 2013, was a success contributing to our growth. Despite the market downturn and Brazil's current political climate, we are happy with our results," José Galizio Neto, Intech Boating president, told IBI.

In addition, Intech Boating has announced plans to introduce Sessa Marine’s C42 model at the Sao Paulo Boat show in October 2014.
