ACOBAR, the Brazilian boatbuilder association, has announced that a number of company members will be attending the Miami Boat Show in February. The move aims to attract a wider consumer market and to leverage from a competitive currency exchange.

Confirmed attendees to the event, which takes place from 11-15 February, include inflatable boat manufacturer FlexBoat, Schaefer Yachts and Colunna Yachts. The latter will be introducing its JetBoats series of sports craft.

Eduardo Colunna, CEO of Colunna Yachts, comments: "The currency exchange rate is attractive for exports and the Miami Boat Show is a great opportunity to showcase our products.”

In addition, boatbuilder Fibrafort, which exports boats to countries in Europe, South America and the UAE, has expanded its operations to Australia. The company has confirmed the sale of 23 units of 13 different models.

These overseas sales were carried out in partnership with its Australia-based dealership.

Fibrafort is present in 42 countries and has reported that exports for 2015 were up 145% over its target.

Europe, South America and the UAE were the main trading partners.
