Brunswick Corp launched the Nautic-On smart boating platform at the Miami International Boat Show (MIBS). The company said at a press conference that the platform improves the boat ownership experience with connectivity and service.
The system will convey a boat’s location and systems data using a hub and wireless sensors on the boat. Customers can access the information through the app, so they can view their boat’s key components and operating systems remotely. It also includes alarms if systems are malfunctioning.
“Nautic-On defines a new smart-boating category with an expandable system dedicated to the marine environment, putting power in the hands of boaters when they need it,” said Adam Schanfield, Nautic-On general manager, in a statement.
The system was designed for any boat equipped with a battery. It is available on new boat models, and can easily be retrofitted to existing boats.
