In spite of a blast of severe winter weather that brought heavy snow and wind chills in the range of -30C to the region, buyers turned up at the 41st annual Calgary Boat & Sportsmen’s Show, which was held at the BMO Centre in Stampede Park, from February 8-11.
Attendance for the 2018 edition of southern Alberta’s largest boat show was reported at 17,900 people, just off the 18,030 who attended the show in 2017. “Despite the extremely cold temperatures and a severe snow store that blanketed much of southern Alberta, people still braved the elements for a breath of spring,” said show manager Marla Kimball.
Exhibiting dealers displayed more than C$20m worth of boats, engines and marine accessories, including a significant range of tow boats for watersports and a growing number of pontoon boats. Dealers report good sales and numerous promising leads for post-show follow-up.
The Calgary Boat & Sportsmen’s Show returns to the BMO Centre at Stampede Park from February 7-10, 2019.
