Canadian equipment manufacturer AdvanTec plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Robertdale, Alabama, near the Gulf of Mexico. The company will create 46 new jobs. AdvanTec owns different marine businesses that include Steelhead Marine, Pacific Coast Marine, Freeman Marine Equipment and Diamond SeaGlaze, among others.
The British Columbia-based company said the new 40,000ft2 facility will open in April. "As the first of our plants in this region, this location will allow us to better serve our clients in the greater Gulf of Mexico and southeastern United States, as well as access a skilled labor market with deep experience in marine metal manufacturing," said Andrew Mund, PE and operations director for AdvanTec, in a company statement.
