Cruisers Yachts unveiled a new outboard version of its 338 Bow Rider to its international dealer network this week, amid reports that first-quarter sales for the Wisconsin-based company are at a 10-year high and they are looking to hire.

The company’s foray into outboard power is in response to the growing demand in that market segment, according to Mark Pedersen, Cruisers Yachts president.

“Over the last 6 to 8 years, we have put a lot of money back into investment to have probably what's the freshest line in the industry right now,” Pederson told WLUK-TV.

Pedersen said the company is from under the negative effects of the recession 10 years ago and is looking to increase its workforce by 25%, bringing on an additional 100 employees. “Everything from electricians, to wood finishing, carpenters, mechanical, supervisors and fiberglass specialists,” he said.

Twelve models of Cruisers yachts, most introduced last autumn at the Ft Lauderdale International Boat Show, are available for on-water testing.
