The Dubai International Superyacht Summit, scheduled to take place on the 28th of February and 1st of March this year, has over 100 delegates registered and key sponsors in place including Dubai Maritime City Authority, Lloyds Register and Porto Montenegro, according to Fabiana Maccarini, CEO of Fabmar, co-organiser of the event. The summit will take place during the dates of the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS).

Speaking to IBI, Maccarini said: “The venue for the event will be Mina Rashid Marina Development, a new marina for superyachts recently opened in the historical centre of Dubai. The backdrop to the summit will be the iconic Queen Elizabeth II ocean liner which is now moored in Mina Rashid Port creating a unique atmosphere in a region where lifestyle meets marine tradition. The Queen Elizabeth II made her maiden voyage in 1969 and was one of the last great transatlantic liners. Considered by many to be the most famous liner in the world, Queen Elizabeth II is now docked permanently at Cruise Terminal 1, in Mina Rashid Marina in Dubai. There could not be a more perfect venue for our summit.”

Maccarini added: “We are also supporting the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS), since our summit will be in the morning and we will a provide shuttle bus and complimentary water-boat transportation to the DIBS site at the Dubai Canal.”

The Dubai International Superyacht Summit will have expert speakers from the superyacht industry from within the UAE and further afield to discuss the opportunities and challenges for the emergence of the Emirati Riviera as a yachting destination, superyacht hub, and a winter destination.
