Marcel and Sander Jetten, co-owners of Jetten Shipyards in the Netherlands, have sold the company to Jetten MD Jeannot Grim.

According to a company statement, the Jetten family will continue to work at the Sneek-based yard and will remain closely involved with the company.

Jetten builds aluminium and steel yachts under the Jetten, Bommelaer, MPC and other brands, and is said to be experiencing strong international growth.

“Twenty years ago, I founded a yard with my brother Sander, after working for third parties for many years,” Marcel Jetten explains. “Developing and building boats is, we both think, the most beautiful thing there is. Managing a developing company led to decreasing our attention from that more and more. By selling our shares we now can fully focus on what we are best in.”

Marcel Jetten will continue to focus on the development and construction of custom yachts, while Sander Jetten, alongside engineering, will focus on motoryacht maintenance and refit. Jeannot Grim will continue in his role of managing director.

“Operationally not much will change,” says Grim, who has served as MD since the end of 2016. “I have many years of experience in managing companies, also internationally, and I think that I can give this strong growing company a solid foundation on the worldwide market."
