Yacht Sourcing, a full-service yacht provider that formed last year in Bali, was recently appointed the official dealer for Ferretti Yachts, Riva and Pershing in Indonesia. A new office for Yacht Sourcing is to be opened in Jakarta early next month which will be the main sales base for the three Ferretti group brands.

The two principals of Yachting Sourcing are Xavier Fabre, co-founder and director of sales, and Boumedienne Senous, co-founder and director of operations.

Fabre has 25 years’ experience in selling yachts of different types and sizes from various global yacht brands in Asia. He was previously the Indonesian country manager for Simpson Marine, the region’s largest yacht brokerage house, and then general manager for the local Azimut Yachts dealer in Indonesia. His time in the region means he has a strong network of clients and yacht sector contacts.

Senous’s sailing passion led him to Indonesia where he learnt his trade in yacht and charter management, plus the skill of project managing the construction of the traditional Indonesian Phinisi yachts. He has built a proven track record in Phinisi construction and refits currently overseeing the build of a client’s 55m (181ft) Phinisi. He oversees all yacht and charter management operations, and manages the technical and service teams directly at Yacht Sourcing.

Fabre comments: “The company is ready to take on the various opportunities presented by the growth of the yachting industry in Indonesia. As the official dealer for Ferretti Yachts, Pershing and Riva brands, we have the ability to offer to our Indonesian clientele the very best of Italian style, ingenuity and engineering.”

Indonesia is currently sharing in the developing marine tourism sectors in a number of Asian countries. Yacht Sourcing states: “There has been huge growth in the Asian boating scene of late, presenting many promising opportunities in the luxury yachting industry. Southeast Asia, and especially Indonesia, is on its way to becoming the ‘Caribbean of the East’, given its lush tropical landscapes and pristine marine cruising grounds, dotted with over 18,300 islands – according to the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN). Of those, only 922 are permanently inhabited, and many of the remainder are sufficiently off the beaten track as to be virtually undiscovered. Without a doubt, the best way to explore Indonesia is by boat.”

Yacht Sourcing was specifically formed in 2016 to take advantage of the immense opportunities arising from the rapidly growing yachting scene of Indonesia. The track record of the two principals resulted in them sharing in an international joint venture which also custom-builds unique traditional Phinisi schooners and refits world-class luxury yachts. Yacht Sourcing is striving to be a leading player in the expanding Indonesian luxury yacht market.

Besides the Ferretti brand dealerships and the Phinisi new builds and refits, the company is also able to offer yacht brokerage, charter management, construction project management and consultancy.

“It is our ambition,” Fabre added, “that Yacht Sourcing becomes synonymous with the yachting lifestyle in Indonesia, through yachting lifestyle events and yacht charter promotional activities. We are committed to developing and fostering sustainable marina infrastructure with reputable industry partners and investors, and to contributing to the growth of the Indonesian marine industry in a constructive and meaningful way.”
