Global Rigging in the UK has appointed Andy Harvey, a former operations manager at Ocean Yacht Systems (OYS), as the company's new project manager. With many years' experience in procurement and the engineering of rig construction, Harvey will be responsible for developing strategic alliances with specialist companies in order to bring the latest composite technologies to the market.
"The appointment of Andy Harvey is an important milestone in the development of our management team at Global Rigging," says managing director Hugh Carpenter. "His abilities will help us move into even larger yachts and the superyacht market by providing an exceptional level of customer service and meticulous management of major projects."
Founded by former OYS directors Hugh Carpenter and Ulf Josefsson in 2004, Global Rigging designs, manufactures and services yacht rigs for boats ranging from 15m-35m (49ft-115ft) in length. The company has a UK manufacturing facility in Marchwood, Southampton, as well as a site in Holland following the acquisition of A Rigging's production facility in February this year. Sales, service and small-part manufacturing takes place at the group's US site.
