Swedish sail yacht builder Hallberg-Rassy, located on the island of Orust on the West coast, has full order books and is now looking to expand its workforce.
“We're constantly looking for more and competent staff to increase our capacity. During the latest 12 months we have employed some 35 persons, and are now looking for interior and machinery carpenters, electrical designers, installers and laminating personnel”, Magnus Rassy CEO Hallberg-Rassy Varvs AB tells IBI.
Hallberg-Rassy have seen good sales for several of their existing models and received very good reviews in international sailing magazines for their new HR 340. Also the situation looks bright for its largest models with order books full until 2019.
The scene is very different from 10 years ago, when the yard had to downsize, but since then sales for the respected brand, have picked up considerably, helped by a weak Swedish Krona boosting exports.
Totally the yard has some 140 direct employees as well as a large number of subcontractors.
