Germany’s HanseYachts launched its first Privilège sailing catamaran in Les Sables-d’Olonne, France last week. Hanse’s parent company, Aurelius, acquired the French yard in May last year, giving the company a foothold in the lucrative multihull market.
The new Privilège Series 5 is the first sailing catamaran to be built in cooperation with the two yards. In addition to a performance upgrade for rigging and sails, the saloon has been redefined and drawn with an enlarged U-shaped lounge for even more space for owners and guests.
“Following the takeover of Privilège by HanseYachts AG, we have combined the know-how of both shipyards and implemented it perfectly in this new catamaran," says Privilège CEO Gilles Wagner. “This Privilège is proof of the future development of our brand."
Hanse claims to be the biggest boatbuilder in Germany in terms of revenue and the second-biggest builder of sailing yachts worldwide. The company now offers seven sail and motorboat brands – Hanse, Moody, Dehler and Varianta sailing yachts, Fjord and Sealine motoryachts, and Privilège catamarans.
The Privilège Series 5 and Privilège Series 6 sailing catamarans will be on display in France next month at the 2018 International Multihull Boat Show in La Grande Motte from April 18-22.
