Mercury Racing said that general manager Erik Christiansen will be leaving the company to pursue an opportunity outside of the boating industry. Christiansen has run the division since 2013, and has been with Mercury for more than 20 years.

Steve Miller, the division’s director of marketing and sales, has been named interim general manager. Miller has been with Mercury since 1993 and has been part of the Mercury Racing program for the last three years.

During Christiansen’s time as general manager, Mercury Racing has launched several industry breakthroughs, including the 400R four-stroke outboard and 1750hp racing sterndrive.

Before coming to Mercury Racing, Miller helped in the launch of many of Mercury’s mainline outboard projects, including the 150hp FourStroke and the introduction of Verado four-stroke line.
