The Global Marina Institute (GMI) is partnering with RAI Amsterdam to present the Marina Investment and Valuation Seminar just prior to this year’s METSTRADE Show.

Held on Monday, November 13 in the Marina & Yard Pavilion in the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition Centre, the seminar will provide an opportunity for marina owners, managers and professionals to better understand the global marina industry and the changing role that marinas can and will play as well as looking at the needs and wants of future customers.

The seminar focuses on the big picture issues as well as getting into the detail of security of tenure, leases and valuation methodologies.

The seminar will be hosted by GMI chairman John Hogan and is supported by Marina World, GMI's exclusive media partner. The programme is currently being finalised but speakers include Dan Hughes, business development director at Camper & Nicholsons Marinas Ltd,  Ian Froome, partner at Vail Williams LLP, and Darren Vaux, director at Empire Marina Bobbin Head.

Sarah Dhanda, chief officer of membership and services at British Marine, says: “I am really excited about the opportunity to run this new seminar alongside the Marina & Yard Pavilion at METSTRADE 2017. Attendees will be able to combine the learning and networking opportunities it provides with a trip to the METSTRADE Show to review the best of marina and boatyard equipment from around the world.”

This year over 65 marina equipment and material suppliers will be present in the MYP, making it the world’s largest concentration of exhibitors from the marina and yard industry in a B2B environment.

Sarah Westdijk, exhibition manager of MYP, says: “The success of the Marina & Yard Pavilion over recent years has transformed it into the number one trade show for the international marina industry. Endorsed by the ICOMIA Marinas Group from the outset, I am delighted that the Global Marina Institute has committed to the MYP this year and selected the show as the ideal platform for a seminar for marina professionals.”
