The third edition of the Porto Montenegro MYBA Pop-Up Show will be held from September 8-10, 2017. The show allows brokers, agents, suppliers and service providers to view yachts and superyachts operating in the Adriatic and Eastern Mediterranean charter markets.
A spokeswoman for Porto Montenegro told IBI: “It is too soon to say how many yachts will attend because some are still involved with charter arrangements. We are hoping for 20 to 25 yachts but it will be a few weeks before we can confirm the number.”
On the second day of the three-day event will be a seminar programme which will include a session on the role of social media in the yacht charter market. There will also be presentations about the charter market options in the area between Greece and Italy, including Croatia and other countries.
This will be the last year that MYBA will be a full partner in the event. For 2018 they will downgrade their involvement to just playing a supporting role. The plan, as MYBA president Fiona Maureso told IBI earlier this year, is to hold the MYBA Pop-Up event at a different location.
She commented: “The word is out amongst MYBA members that this is an excellent B2B opportunity to inspect charter and brokerage yachts in a relaxed yet professional setting, and to explore a destination that is becoming ever more popular with owners and charterers.”
“Attendees enjoy viewing the yachts, of course, that’s what it’s all about. But it is also about gaining insight into this region and how they can market it most effectively to potential charter guests in the future," says Tony Browne, marina director of Porto Montenegro.
As an addition to the main programme on September 11, a number of invitation-only trips will give guests an additional opportunity to experience first-hand the local area’s outstanding natural beauty, yacht-friendly tax legislation and rapidly expanding infrastructure for yachts of up to 250m in length.
