Northrop & Johnson Asia (N&J Asia) is expanding its yacht marketing activities, having recently signed a regional distribution agreement with the Catana Group for the Bali Catamaran brand. This young brand of sailing and motor multihulls will be promoted out of N&J Asia offices, which are located in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.

“Asia has for a long time led the way in retail multihull sales,” says Northrop & Johnson managing director Asia and sales broker, Bart Kimman. “Now global charter companies are developing catamaran charter fleets in the top Asian destinations. Multihulls are practical and desirable, and they are here to stay.

“Bali Catamarans is looking to significantly grow its market share,” he adds. “Teaming up with the renowned Catana Group to launch the range in Asia is a dream come true for us. Combining state-of-the-art construction with the most innovative designs in the industry, these catamarans are impressive and I can’t wait to see the first boats arrive in the summer of 2018. Our team will focus on a successful market introduction in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.”

As a brand, Bali Catamarans are only three years old, but the yachts have already received awards and accolades from the boating community. Naval architect Xavier Fay and designer Olivier Poncin have created stylish yachts in conjunction with interiors from the Lasta Design Studio. The vessels merge ergonomic, fluid shapes with natural light to make for a more enjoyable and comfortable onboard sailing experience.

Catana Group, as the parent of Bali, has more than 30 years of experience in designing and building top-class racing catamarans. Catana has now branched out to create something new and contemporary for the next generation of cruising sailors; its elegant, seaworthy yachts incorporate the very latest in design and technology. The sailing range starts with the 12m (40ft) Bali 4.0 and currently goes up to the 16.8m (55.2ft) Bali 5.4.

N&J sales broker, Greg Dagge, will serve as N&J’s brand manager for Bali Catamarans in Asia. “We are very excited to be involved at this stage of Bali’s evolution,” he comments. “Catana has created a compelling series of design breakthroughs, including the loft or bow lounge.
