Italian boating industry body Nautica Italiana (NI), has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Versilia Rendez-vous with the Chinese Visun Group, the organiser of the annual Hainan Rendez-vous exhibition in Sanya.

Under the MOU the two organisations say they share a mutual interest in forming a strategic partnership to promote small and medium-sized companies in the nautical sector assiting them to participate in the 2018 Hainan Rendez-vous, the largest luxury yacht show in China.

According to the MOU agreement, Visun will undertake to provide the maximum support to the Italian Nautical members who want to present themselves at the next editions of Hainan Rendez-vous and expand their business internationally. For its part, NI will promote the participation of its members at the Chinese event, thus officially linking it to the Versilia Yachting Rendez-vous.

If the partnership meets the satisfaction of both actors, a second part of the agreement dedicated to the development of exclusive activities developed in co-branding will be activated.

The Visun Group also took the opportunity to launch Celophi, a new yachting lifestyle, which will offer a new unique destination for products, services and the lifestyle of excellence around the nautical world. This new initiative of the group will feature an 'online-offline' commercial platform with the aim of creating further economic opportunities, possible synergies and future strategic developments in the Chinese market for Italian companies in the nautical sector.

"We are enthusiastic about this new, precious collaboration, convinced of the exclusive opportunity offered in terms of growth and visibility to the members of Nautica Italiana" said Lamberto Tacoli, president of Nautica Italiana who added: "In terms of exports, Made in Italy finds in China one of its main markets (15.4% of the total value)... this constitutes the seventh country in the world for the Italian nautical export."

"With the partnership between Nautica Italiana and the new lifestyle platform for Visun yachts, we will promote the nautical sector to a level of excellence, developing common synergies for the promotion, in Italy and in China, of the nautical and lifestyle sectors" said Chen Yuntao, vice president of Visun, who added: "We are witnessing a new era for yachts and sailing to new adventure.”
