The recently opened Bulgari Hotel, said to be the most expensive in Dubai, is offering its guests a high standard of accommodation and services including a 50-berth marina. The latter can berth yachts up to 40m (131ft).
The new exclusive marina adds a few more berths to the already sizeable portfolio of marina berths available in Dubai. The hotel’s offerings include a yacht club which Bulgari says has been inspired by ‘intimate marinas in Italy’.
Silvio Ursini, Bulgari’s group executive vice president, commented: “As Italians, we love marinas, especially small marinas which have a place within the community. Watching the boats come and go over dinner or drinks is all part of the appeal.”
In addition to the ‘intimate’ 50-berth marina, Bulgari has also arranged for a superyacht anchorage just outside Jumeirah Bay for guests with larger craft. Here, superyachts up to 80m (262ft) or more can berth.
The Bulgari resort is run in partnership with Meraas, and is located just up the Jumeirah coastline. It is connected to downtown Dubai by a 300m bridge. In addition to the hotel there are 173 luxury residences and 15 private mansions.
Dubai is currently going through a phase of major marina capacity expansion which includes some 1,400 berths in the Dubai Harbour project, 700 berths at Mina Rashid marina, and over a 1,000 berths in the Dubai Canal.
