BR Marinas in Brazil launched its first marina in the city of Búzios in upstate Rio de Janeiro last month, bringing a greater level of service to the region. While the city is a seaside resort and well-known tourist destination, there is a distinct lack of marinas.

Búzios Marina is located in a new neighborhood called Aretê, an area of six million square meters in the heart of the city, and is part of a development which already has a golf course, airport, and soon a hotel.

It has a total capacity of 100 berths – 40 on land and 60 on the water, distributed on three floating docks. This is the group's first marina in the region, which is called Região dos Lagos (Lake Region).

BR Marinas is also responsible for the administration of marinas such as Marina da Glória, Marina Verolme and four more. All of the marinas are located in Rio de Janeiro city and in Angra dos Reis city, south of Rio de Janeiro state. The group is recognised for having the best nautical structure in the country.

The new marina is expected to attract new entrants to the marine lifestyle, while also promoting tourism to the region.
