Singapore's ONE15 Marina Club has announced that it is to sponsor this year's UIM F1 Powerboat Championships Grand Prix, which gets under way on September 16 at the city's Marina Bay in downtown Singapore. As part of the agreement, ONE15 will provide a VIP marquee with "outstanding" spectator views onto the race course, while club members and representatives of the Singapore media will be able to watch the action from the Hye Seas a S$4 million superyacht owned by local entrepreneur Arthur Tay. The superyacht's tender will be a S$128,000 Grady White powerboat.

"ONE15 is delighted to support the UIM F1 Powerboat Championships," says Tay, chairman and managing director of ONE15 Marina Club. "Powerboat racing is an exciting and dynamic sport and these same qualities are shared by ONE15, Singapore's and the Asia region's foremost marine lifestyle club. We are thrilled to play our part in bringing this thrilling waterborne spectacle to Singapore."

ONE15 Marina Club, which is located just one degree 15 minutes north of the equator in Singapore's Sentosa Cove, will be the first purpose-built megayacht centre in Asia with full facilities when it opens in 2007, claims a company press release. In addition to being a marina, it will also boast a yacht club with world-class amenities, including a designer pool, spa, several restaurants and a gym. Two 18-hole championship golf courses are located nearby, and ONE15 will also offer boat chartering services.
