The first edition of the Phuket Rendezvous, which runs from January 4-7, 2018 at the Royal Phuket Marina, is on course to become the largest luxury lifestyle and marine exhibition held in Thailand to date, says event organiser Asia Rendez Vous Pte Ltd.

The Rendevous replaces the Phuket International Boat Show (Pimex) that has been held over the past 14 years. With just six weeks to go, the Rendezvous has almost sold all of its in-water berths and a number of the region's leading brokers and global boat manufacturers are already signed up to exhibit.

The inaugural event will include three Asian premieres: the Ferretti Yachts 850, shown by Lee Marine, plus two Princess Yachts models – the P62 and the S65 – exhibited by Boat Lagoon Boating.

Another key feature of the Rendezvous will be the launch of the Christofle Yacht Style Awards. These will recognise the best of the yachting industry in Asia and internationally.

The awards programme will have 25 categories which are designed to showcase excellence and creative flair in the latest motor and sailing yacht models presented in the Asia-Pacific region by leading builders here and beyond.

One non-competing brand is being invited to be the exclusive partner of Thailand’s leading maritime awards ceremony and engage with clients and future prospects. The awards ceremony is seen as an ideal networking opportunity for leaders and decision-makers in the marine and boating industries.

As far yachts are concerned, there will be some 50 craft on display at the Rendezvous. Recent additions to the exhibitor list include Ace International Marine, a Phuket-based charter company that is also the sole Thai distributor for South Korean shipyard Splo Yachts. The company’s 22.5m (74ft) Splo 74, a sail cruising yacht, will be exhibited at the show.
