Pleasurecraft Engine Group said today that it has signed a multi-year contract extension with General Motors. The marine engine builder has had more than a 40-year relationship with GM. For the last 20 years, GM has been the exclusive powertrain in all Pleasurecraft engines.

In 2015, Pleasurecraft partnered with GM Marine to produce the PCM Hyperformance H5 and H6. These were the first direct-injection engines in the towsports industry, and are currently the most powerful and fuel efficient engines, according to a company statement.

“We are renowned for our unique marinisation process, which includes our patented exhaust system, patented fuel system, transmissions, and many other components,” says Pleasurecraft president Mark McKinney in a statement. “During this process, 250 components are added to GM blocks to produce a Pleasurecraft engine.”

Kris Mayer, GM’s general director of wholesale, marine and industrial sales, said that Pleasurecraft is one GM’s largest buyers of V8 marine engines. “We are thrilled to continue in this partnership,” said Mayer in the statement.
