At the recent Superyacht Investors Conference in London, a presentation was made that highlighted a new business called the Momentum Superyacht Group. This was proposed as a vehicle to attract investment into the superyacht market through brokerage, charter and management.

Records at Companies House, the UK business registry, highlight the short history of the company which ironically was never set to live up to its title by gaining in momentum. Unless circumstances change, the Momentum Superyacht Group is set to be dissolved in the coming weeks.

The Momentum Superyacht Group Ltd was incorporated on March 11, 2018 with Companies House in Cardiff, Wales. Its address was given as Mersey Priory Close, Maidstone ME15 0EY. The company number was 11249093 and the first director mentioned was Christopher Metalle. According to the records, he remains an active director at this time.

On March 23, 2018, Garth Carstens and Stefano Alfano were appointed as directors but Alfano resigned on April 16 and Carstens on April 17.

On April 30 an application was made to Companies House to strike the company off the register. This was followed on May 8 by a filing under the Companies ACT 2006 -Section 10039(3) under which The Registrar of Companies gave notice that “unless cause is shown to the contrary, at the expiration of two months from the above date [May 8], the name of the Momentum Superyacht Group Ltd will be struck off the register and the company will be dissolved.”

The notice added: “Upon dissolution all property and rights vested in, or held in trust for, the company are deemed to be bona vacantia, and accordingly will belong to the crown.”
