French boatbuilding group Poncin Yachts has reported turnover growth of 18 per cent on 2009/2010 for the first three quarters of 2010/2011.
The boatbuilder generated a total turnover of €24.83m for the first nine months of 2010/2011 — €20.65m from boats and €4.19m from its service offering — compared to a total of €21.05m during the same period in 2009/2010 — €17.55m from boats and €3.50m from services.
Poncin’s service business has grown slightly more during this period than its boating business, the former up 19.53 per cent on 2009/2010 while the latter grew 17.65 per cent.
Turnover for the third quarter of 2010/2011 totals €11.5m compared to €13.3m for the first two quarters combined, a difference that can be explained by spring boat deliveries.
The group says that the results are thanks to an ‘acceleration’ of sales with the Catana catamaran brand and a ‘well-maintained’ level of business on White Shark open motorboats.
Poncin Yachts confirms that the operation will return to profit from this year.
