Paul Usal, Rayglass’s new Purchasing & Logistics Manager, says his aim to make the Kiwi boat manufacturer even more efficient and help it produce boats of even higher quality.

“Rayglass is already known for the super-high quality of their boats, their finish and of all the accessories and fittings on board,” he says. “However, our suppliers, like us, are always looking to improve the quality of their products. One of my key roles is to monitor and encourage those advancements and, when appropriate, incorporate them into our models.”

According to Rayglass CEO, Dave Larsen, Paul Usal, who only joined the company last December, has already had a significant impact.

“Paul is proving a really great addition to our team,” he says. “He has a fantastic ‘can do’ attitude and is enormously experienced. He has bought a fresh perspective to many of our processes and has already improved our efficiency in a number of key areas.”

A qualified boatbuilder who is also a keen boatie, fisher and scuba diver, Usal’s first experience with a Rayglass was as a Coastguard volunteer.

Paul Usal is based at Rayglass’ headquarters and showroom on the water’s edge in Auckland, New Zealand. The company employs over 60 people in three state of the art manufacturing facilities and is one of New Zealand’s most successful marine businesses, both at home and internationally.

Rayglass manufactures the multi-award winning Legend series of GRP powerboats; the Protector range of patrol, work and pleasure RIBs and innovative Pro-Jet, a combination RIB and PWC.
