Turkish superyacht builder RMK Marine has been chosen by Dutch design and engineering firm Marimecs and Yacht & Villa International, a superyacht brokerage with offices in London and the Cote d'Azur, to build a 62m yacht support vessel.

The YSV 62 is a cooperation between Marimecs and Yacht & Villa. The vessel’s concept was created by Marimecs, with exterior styling by Van Geest Design. RMK Marine contributed to the technical specs of the ICE Class vessel, which takes a maximum 24 months to build.

With a length of 62m and an 11.3m beam, the YSV 62 will have an extensive main deck area of over 300sq m for the storage of tenders and toys, landing and storing a helicopter, and supplementary accommodation for the mother yacht. It will be able to replenish the yacht with provisions and water due to extensive storage in the cooled and freezer areas, as well as cooled waste storage.

RMK Marine is also working on the construction of a 58m explorer yacht at its facilities in Istanbul. The exterior and interior designer of the project is Hot Lab, an Italian design firm.

For now, the 58m explorer yacht is the superyacht builder’s largest ever project. The previous one was the 45m motoryacht Karia, custom built in 2012.

RMK’s background in superyacht and explorer yacht construction is one of the reasons it was chosen to handle construction of the YSV 62. The company is located in the Turkish shipbuilding region of Tuzla and has the capacity to build yachts of up to 180m.
