Italian superyacht builder Sanlorenzo launched its first 500Exp motoryacht last week as part of its 60th anniversary celebrations in La Spezia.
The 47m explorer vessel was launched in a Buddhist ceremony, in full respect for the traditions of the young Chinese ship owner.
Developed in close contact with the client, the 500-tonne explorer vessel has a longer stern area, thus meeting a specific request to provide a landing pad for helicopters without losing the configuration of a superyacht explorer.
According to Sanlorenzo, the 500Exp revolutionises the concept of an expedition boat, proposing itself as a luxury superyacht for trips to exotic and distant destinations. It is now ready to embark on a round-the-world journey in the spirit of leisure and comfort, says the company.
Based at a new 50,000sq m production site in La Spezia, the Sanlorenzo Superyacht Division is entirely dedicated to designing and building metal models above 40m.
