The 10th Superyacht Finance Forum, organised by Marine Money magazine, will be held on September 26, 2017 at the Café de Paris in Monaco. The forum has become a regular event and one of the few that actively addresses the sensitive subject of superyacht financing trends.
The opening session will be a scene-setter, with a review of the order book over the past year in terms of new builds, deliveries and price movements. Reflecting the fact this year is the 10th edition, a look back and forward will be presented by Martin Redmayne of the Superyacht Group.
In the following set of presentations, Sam Tucker, superyacht analyst at VesselsValue, will address the challenging subject of superyacht valuations. Complementing this will be a panel discussion on superyacht finance trends with contributions from Anthony Buneta of Societe Generale Private Banking, Monaco, Curt Akmine from ING Luxembourg, and Lisa Verbit of Bank of America.
Legal, tax and regulatory issues will be the content of another panel session with participants including Freddy Desplanques from Ince & Co, Dr Alison Vassalio from Fenech & Fenech in Malta, and Miguel Serra Guasch from Albors Galliano Portales in Spain.
A complete change will follow with an examination of the success of the America’s Cup in Bermuda and its impact for the North Atlantic islands territory. This will be presented by Sam Hollis, COO of the 35th America’s Cup.
The final session will address one expanding current trend and one ongoing issue of continual importance. The former will be a review of the expedition yacht market by Peter Robert of Damen Shipyards. The second, a look at where superyacht buying clients are coming from currently, will be a presentation of Roberto Giorgi, executive chairman of Fraser Yachts.
